This Privacy Policy explains how Starehe ("we", "us", or "our") collects, processes, uses, shares and protects information about you when you use our mobile applications and services. It also tells you how you can access and update your information and make certain choices about how your information is used.

In this policy, "personal information" means any information by which you can be identified or contacted, such as your child’s details or your name, email address, telephone number, etc. Starehe collects personal information when communicating or interacting with you through our Mobile App or website as well as via mailings, telephone, or in person.

We may collect this information through various means and in various places through the Services, including account registration forms, contact us forms, or when you otherwise interact with us. When you sign up to use the Services, you create a user profile. Starehe uses the personal information that it collects to conduct its business and to provide you with the best possible services and experience. Starehe does not share with any third party any user (student/parent/guardian) information that would identify the specific user in any manner, with the exception that Starehe may, in certain instances, disclose your personal information when demanded by an order of the court.

Starehe may collect, use and provide to trusted third parties solely anonymous data (statistics and quantitative data) such as overall usage of Starehe’s App in a specific geographical location, length of use of the App by an individual in a given session, and average daily, weekly and monthly access to the app by unidentified users. We may also use your information to notify you of safety issues, respond to comments, or personalize your experience.

Specifically, you may be assured that Starehe will:

• Not sell student information.
• Not build a personal profile of a student other than for supporting authorized educational/school purposes.
• Use data for authorized education/transportation purposes only.
• Not knowingly retain student personal information beyond the time period required.
• Support parental access to, and correction of errors in, their children’s information.
• Maintain a comprehensive security program to protect the security and integrity of student personal information.
• Be transparent about the collection and use of data.

Our Services are primarily provided through the Starehe Mobile Application. We may collect technical data including device manufacturer, model, operating system, and interaction data to facilitate software updates and personalize content. We also collect real-time location data of the school bus to provide tracking services to parents and schools.

The Protected Information and Usage Information we collect is securely stored within our databases using industry-standard security practices such as encryption, firewalls, and SSL. However, no security system is impenetrable, and any information you transmit to Starehe is at your own risk.
